Children often remember what they can say and do at the same time.
Teach one phrase at a time
Say the first phrase, show the motion, let the class repeat it, then add the next phrase. Keep it simple enough that a new volunteer could learn it quickly.
Keep the verse central
The motion serves the words. If the motion distracts from the verse or feels too silly for the age group, simplify it.
Use it well
- Teach the reference with the verse so children remember where the words come from.
- Repeat the same motion sequence several times instead of adding new movements too quickly.
- Adapt motions for children with limited mobility or sensory needs without making them feel singled out.
The goal is Scripture remembered with joy, not a performance that outshines the verse.
